According to the Tennessee Tech article, “Mathematics is the science and study of quality, structure, space, and change. Mathematicians seeks out patterns, formulate new conjectures, and establish truth by rigorous deduction from appropriately chosen axioms and definitions.” I simply call mathematics challenging. 

As an educator for many years, I have found mathematics a challenging subject for elementary school, junior high school, high school students and beyond.  The acquisition of student’s multiplication facts is integral for elementary school students, yet so many children struggle with this requirement.  My theory is if so many children are able to memorize the lyrics to many of their favorite songs, then they can memorize their multiplication facts.
