Aww, Did Someone Say Exit Strategy Again? (Part II)

In a previous post, we discussed the importance of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) for children and strategies they can use to exit the red quadrant.  In this post, we will discuss some strategies they can use to get themselves out of the blue quadrant.  Again, this essentially means giving children the opportunity to recognize how they feel and then offering children strategies to exit any mood they get in.

Blue Quadrant:

What feelings are exhibited?  Feelings of unpleasantness like sadness or loneliness, boredom, alienation and low energy.

Children need to understand what caused them to feel this way? Think about what may have happened to make them feel

sad, lonely and/or depressed.

Children need to understand what strategies they can use to feel less unpleasant, angry or fearful?

Strategies include (but not limited to): listening to music, taking deep breaths, talking with friends, exercising, yoga or reading.  Each child needs to find their niche to help them navigate through their mood.

If they can’t find their niche on their own, Advance Scholars tutoring service, not only offers support with ELA, (we have certified Reading Instructors), Math, (we have certified AIS Math Instructors) and ENL Instructors, we also have child psychologists on staff to help your whole child.  Don’t hesitate, contact Advance Scholars tutoring service today by calling 646/717-1015 or log onto our website, www.advancesholars.com and complete the brief questionnaire, we are available 24/7!  Advance Scholars tutoring Service is Transforming the Leaders of Tomorrow, each day at a time!
